While looking at Sandi Carpenter's art, a unique phenomenon occurs: you can hear it; you can smell it; you can even taste it! Sandi Carpenter transcends the typical barriers of art, much like Coltrane or the Beatles. Having traveled all over the world, her eclectic style mirrors this "patois" of experience.

Through the years, Sandi's choice of medium and subject has reflected her travels and influences. Sandi has become fascinated with French dyes on silk, offering her greater artistic freedom than ever. The properties inherent in this technique yield intense color saturation, resulting in a vibrancy that is dramatic and breathtaking and coupled with the application of multi-textured fibers to many paintings, the viewer is captivated and at one with her painting's settings.

Although a native of Mexico, Sandi's wanderlust has led her to experience a diversity of cultural and geographical environments. Result? The artist is equally comfortable creating contemporary ethnic subjects and Caribbean art to Gauguin's diverse South Pacific tropical paradise, as well as figurative studies.

Sandi has been winning award for her unique imagery since the age of eight. Clearly it is those fond memories that catalyze her compelling desire to bring art awareness and appreciation to the community. Sandi has repeatedly taught in the public school system, volunteered her time to judge countless art competitions and maintains affiliations with several major art societies.

"Due to my endless curiosity and wide range of interests, my work has evolved over the years. Just as a musician would change instruments to perfect the mood and rhythm created, I enjoy moving from one medium to another. I am always hopeful that the magic I feel in creating these images will be felt by the viewer with similar intensity. That's when art really lives."
